Folks, here's the deal - Paul is really laying it out in Philippians 2. He's saying, c'mon, man, if you wanna be like Jesus, you've gotta follow his lead. He gave up all power and all privilege, and literally made himself nothing. That's how you show humility, by giving up all your own stuff, and see here, Jack, it's no malarkey! I'm not joking - Jesus even died on the cross to save the world - that's how big the sacrifice was.

Now, I tell you what, Paul is asking us to do the same - follow in Jesus' footsteps and literally put others first. That's what it means to be a Christian. My father used to say, "if you wanna be great, be a servant." What was that? That's what Jesus did, so that's what we should do. We may not have to die on a cross, but we should be willing to put our own interests aside and follow Jesus' example.

And, excuse me, if we do this, Paul says that we will be like Jesus, and that means the same honor and glory will be given to us that Jesus got. Or uh, you know, God will be pleased with us, and we will shine bright in the world. Not gonna happen if we don't follow Jesus' example. So, folks, let's follow Jesus' example and literally put others first.
