Folks, I'm gonna tell you what - I've been around a long time, and I've seen some things. Like when I was a kid, my father used to say, "Joe, if you don't get your act together, God will send a huge fish to swallow you whole!" Well, that's exactly what happened to Jonah here. See, God told Jonah to go preach to Nineveh and Jonah didn't want to do it. So he tried to run away from God, but God sent a great big fish to swallow him!

But then that big fish spit him out after three days, and, c'mon man, what were the chances of that happening? Literally, none! So, Jonah went to Nineveh and told the people to repent and they did. But then Jonah got mad because God forgave them and Jonah wanted them to be punished. So he went and sat outside the city and God sent a plant to shelter Jonah from the sun. But eventually the plant withered and Jonah got mad at God again.

And God said to him, "Is it right that you should be so angry?" And then Jonah said, "Yes, it's right for me to be angry, even unto death!" But then God said, "You have been concerned about this plant, which you did not work for and which you did not cause to grow, which came up in a night and perished in a night. And should I not spare Nineveh, that great city, in which there are more than 120,000 persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left, and also much cattle?"

And, you know, that was a good point. So, I tell you what - don't make the mistake that Jonah did. If God asks you to do something, do it. No malarkey!
