1. Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because {there is} no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. / 2. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood. →

Well, Hosea 4 is a real downer, folks. The Lord is really mad at his people for worshiping false gods. He says that the people's sins have caused the land to mourn and their worship of idols has led to spiritual and physical death. →

Joe: Alright, so let's get into Hosea 4. What's going on in this chapter? Bible Expert: Well Joe, in this chapter God is delivering a message of judgement and warning to the people of Israel. He's warning them of the consequences of their sins and idolatry, which are famine, drought, and destruction. →

Alex: "So, what are your hobbies?" Contestant: "Well, I like to read the Bible. Let me tell you about Hosea 4." Alex: [sighs] "Go ahead..." Contestant: "Hosea 4 talks about how God's people have rejected God's laws and instructions. →

"LISTEN UP YOU MAGGOTS! Hosea 4 is the chapter where God tells the Israelites they need to shape up or they're gonna get shipped out! They've been worshiping false gods and committing adultery like it's goin' outta style. →

Batman: "Gothamites, we must pay heed to the words of Hosea 4! The Lord accuses His people of no knowledge, and their leaders of having gone astray. Catwoman: Oh, how droll. What else does it say? Batman: Well, the Lord proclaims that His people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, and that their priests have rejected the law. →

Listen, Jack, here's the deal. You know, Hosea 4 is all about the sins of the people, c'mon man. Like, these folks are sinning left and right, and God's not gonna have it. I mean, literally, He's punishing them for their transgressions. →

In Hosea 4, we see a BIGLY problem in Israel. Many people are saying that the priests have FAILED in their duties, the people have REJECTED knowledge, and there is no REVERENCE for God. It's SAD! And the consequence? Well, the land will be DESTROYED and the people will be SCATTERED. →

Peter: Alright folks, let's move on to Hosea 4. It's all about God's judgement on the people of Israel for their sins. So, like, God's punishing them for, like, worshipping idols and all that. He's like, "Your country is full of murder, lies, and cheating". →
