Well, folks, it's time for a very special chapter of the Bible: Hosea 2. This one is all about relationships, and boy, do we have some drama. God is really mad at Israel and Judah for their sins, so he's gonna punish them, hard. →

Joe: Alright, so I'm here with Bible expert, what's the chapter we're talking about today? Expert: Well, Joe, we're discussing Hosea 2. Joe: Is that one of the longer chapters? Expert: No, it's not. →

Alex: "Well, tell me about yourself, what do you do for a living?" Contestant: "I'm actually a Bible scholar. I specialize in the book of Hosea. For example, in Hosea 2, God speaks to the people of Israel and tells them that He will take away all of the benefits He had given them. →

Listen up, ya maggots! Hosea 2 starts off with God's people bein' accused of adultery. They're choosin' to worship other gods instead of the Lord, so God's gonna punish 'em! He's gonna strip away their fine clothes and jewelry, and they won't have no more grain or wine, either. →

Batman: I've got a hunch that something's rotten in the state of Israel. Robin: What gives you that feeling, Batman? Batman: Hosea 2. It talks about a broken covenant between God and the people of Israel. →

Folks, here's the deal. My father used to say, "Hosea 2 is about the Lord's judgement on Israel for their unfaithfulness." See here, Jack, the Lord is metaphorically calling Israel his wife, and he's not gonna put up with her infidelity! He tells his people that he's gonna punish them by withholding his love, and revoking all the good gifts he'd given them. →

Hosea 2: God is speaking to Israel, His beloved. He says the relationship between them is like a marriage, but Israel has been unfaithful and has followed after other gods. God will punish them for their sins, but then He will show them great mercy and love. →

Peter: Alright, so this is Hosea 2. So, the Lord says to Israel, "Accuse your mother, for she is not my wife, and I am not her husband." Lois: Wow, that's harsh. Peter: Yeah, but then the Lord says he's gonna allure her and win her heart back. →
