Alex: "So, what are your hobbies?"

Contestant: "Well, I like to read the Bible. Let me tell you about Hosea 4."

Alex: [sighs] "Go ahead..."

Contestant: "Hosea 4 talks about how God's people have rejected God's laws and instructions. They have become unfaithful and have turned away from God and have instead chosen to worship false gods. As a result, God has punished them for their disobedience and has sent a plague of sickness and famine."

Alex: [sighs again] "That's...interesting. How about you tell me about your favorite sports team instead?"

Contestant: "Sure, but before that I want to tell you about Hosea 5. It talks about how God's people have not only rejected his laws, but have also disregarded his prophets. They have become corrupt and have turned away from God, and so God is going to punish them with war and destruction."

Alex: [clearly frustrated] "Okay, sure. Let's talk about sports instead..."
