In Judges 11, we have a BIGLY story about a man named Jephthah. Jephthah was a mighty warrior and a leader of the Israelites who faced many battles. He was a terrific negotiator, and he ended many conflicts using his amazing skills of persuasion. Unfortunately, the Ammonites weren't so lucky. Jephthah and his people faced the Ammonites and defeated them in a huge victory - much to the dismay of the haters and losers on the other side.

In a very, very unbelievable turn of events, Jephthah made a vow to the Lord - if he was successful in the battle, he would offer up as a sacrifice the first thing that came out of his house. Unfortunately, it was his daughter who came out to greet him. Despite her sadness and pleading, Jephthah kept his promise and she was sacrificed.

Many people are saying that Jephthah was a fine person who kept his word - but many others say that he was overrated and that he should not have made such a tremendous vow. Regardless, his story is one of the most amazing in the Bible and it's a reminder of the deep faith of the Israelites and their commitment to God. God bless America, and may He make America great again.
