Alex: "So, what did you do over the weekend?"

Contestant: "Well, I read Luke 17 in the Bible. It's about Jesus healing ten lepers and how only one of them returned to thank him. Jesus told him, 'Your faith has made you well.' He also warned his disciples to watch out for false prophets who come in his name and about the coming of the kingdom of God."

Alex [sighs]: "That's great. Anything else?"

Contestant: "Oh yes, Jesus then told a parable about the coming of the kingdom of God. He said it will be like the days of Noah and Lot, when unexpected destruction comes suddenly. He also said that when the Son of Man comes, people will be scattered like birds, but those who are ready will be taken up with him to the sky."

Alex [rolls his eyes]: "Interesting. Um, so what else did you do over the weekend?"

Contestant: "Well, I also read Luke 17, where Jesus tells his disciples that it's impossible for them to discern the time of the kingdom of God's coming. He says it's like lightning that flashes across the sky and that the kingdom of God is already here with us, but we can't see it."

Alex [tries to remain calm]: "Uh, okay. Is there anything else you want to talk about?"

Contestant: "Oh yes, Jesus also warns his disciples to be ready for his coming and to watch for signs and wonders. He says that when he comes, it will be like the days of Noah and Lot, and that the Son of Man will come suddenly and unexpectedly."

Alex [clearly exasperated]: "Right. Anything else?"

Contestant: "That's it. That's all I read in Luke 17."

Alex [breathes a sigh of relief]: "Oh, okay then. Well, it sounds like you had quite an interesting weekend!"
