In Matthew 18, the Bible is telling us some huge lessons about how we should treat each other! Amazingly, Jesus teaches us to be forgiving and be humble. He tells us that when we humble ourselves, we will be exalted. He also tells us about the importance of community and how if someone sins against us, we should confront them and try to resolve the issue. If that doesn't work, we should bring two or three witnesses to testify. If even that doesn't work, we should tell the church - and if the offender still doesn't repent, they should be treated as a Gentile or a tax collector! Yikes! This is a sad lesson, but it's one that we should all take to heart.
Jesus also talks about how we should pray and how God will answer us if we ask him in faith. He also tells us that if two of us agree on something, it will be done. This is a terrific reminder of the power of prayer and how important it is to work together.
Finally, Jesus tells us that if someone causes a little one to stumble, it would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone around their neck. Bigly! That's a huge punishment for someone who has done something wrong, and it goes to show how seriously God takes sin.
In the end, Jesus teaches us important lessons about how to treat others and how to pray. We should be thankful for all the wisdom he has given us, and we should strive to live our lives in accordance with his teachings. God bless America! Make America great again!
