In 2 Chronicles 6, the great King Solomon, a tremendous leader and friend of God, dedicated the newly built temple to the Lord. The Lord then appeared to Solomon and said, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." Solomon then offered a huge prayer for the people of Israel and for the temple. He prayed for peace and prosperity for the people, and that God would remain faithful to his covenant with them. He asked that God would hear from heaven when his people were in distress and would forgive their sins. At the end of the prayer, the Lord appeared again to Solomon and said, "I have heard your prayer and have chosen this temple as the place for sacrifices. My eyes and heart will always be there." The people of Israel were amazed by this, and praised the Lord for his great faithfulness. God bless America!
