Alex Trebek: So, John, tell us a little bit about yourself.

John: Sure, I'm a big fan of the Bible, especially the book of 2 Chronicles.

Alex Trebek [ sighs and rolls his eyes]: Alright, let's hear it.

John: Sure! In 2 Chronicles 6, King Solomon finishes building the temple in Jerusalem and offers a lengthy prayer of dedication. He reminds God of all of the promises made to the Israelites and how God helped his father, King David, to make all of these plans come true. Solomon then asks God to be with the people of Israel, and to hear their prayers and requests. He also asks God to forgive the sins of the people, and to punish the wicked.

Alex Trebek [tries desperately to change the subject]: That's great, John, now tell us about your hobbies.

John: Well, I'm really passionate about reading the Bible and learning about the history of the Israelites.

Alex Trebek [visibly frustrated]: Okay, then tell us about 2 Chronicles 7.

John: Sure! In 2 Chronicles 7, Solomon celebrates the completion of the temple and dedicates it to God with a seven-day feast. He then prays for the people of Israel and asks God to forgive their sins and to protect them from their enemies. God responds to Solomon's prayer by promising to bless the people of Israel and to be with them if they remain faithful to Him.
