Alex Trebek: Alright, so why don't you tell me a little bit about yourself?

Contestant: Well, I've been studying the Bible recently and I'd like to share with you what I've learned about Judges 12.

Alex Trebek: (sighing) Alright, if you insist. Judges 12 tells us the story of Jephthah, a mighty warrior who leads the Israelites against the Ammonites. After winning the battle, Jephthah makes a rash vow that whatever comes out of his house first upon his return will be sacrificed to God. Unfortunately, the first thing out of Jephthah's house was his daughter, and he was forced to carry out his vow and offer her as a burnt offering.

Alex Trebek: (gritting his teeth) Yes, yes, I'm familiar with the story. Anything else?

Contestant: Well, in Judges 12 we also see the rise of Ibzan, Elon, and Abdon as judges of Israel. Each of them bring peace and justice to the land, and they serve as a reminder of God's faithfulness to His people.

Alex Trebek: (trying to change the topic) That's, uh, great. So, uh, when did you first become interested in the Bible?
