Alex Trebek: So, uh, tell me a bit about yourself.

Contestant: Well, I'm a big fan of the Bible, and I'd like to give you a quick summary of 1 Kings 9 if that's okay?

Alex Trebek: [Sighs] Sure, why not.

Contestant: So, in 1 Kings 9, God appears to King Solomon and reminds him of the covenant that he made with David, his father, which is that Solomon will be the ruler of Israel if he follows the laws of God. Then, God asks Solomon to build a temple in Jerusalem as a way of honoring Him. After that, God makes a covenant with Solomon and promises to bless him if he follows His laws and to punish him if he doesn't.

Alex Trebek: Okay, that was, uh, interesting. So, what else?

Contestant: Then, God tells Solomon to build a wall around Jerusalem and appoint officials to protect it. He also gives Solomon a warning that if he or the people of Israel disobey God's laws, they will be punished with famine, disease, and war. Finally, God tells Solomon that if he remains faithful and follows His laws, then He will make sure that Solomon's kingdom will last forever.

Alex Trebek: [Rolls eyes] Alright, well I think we have heard enough about the Bible for now. Moving on...
