Folks, here's the deal: Ephesians 3 is all about Paul and his mission. Paul was given the special task of revealing to the Gentiles the riches of the mystery of Christ. No malarkey! My father used to say, if you ain't got no mission, you ain't got nothing. Paul was literally given the charge to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, so that the Gentiles could be brought into the same family as the Jews. See here, Jack -- it was a tall order, and Paul knew it. He prayed that God would give the Gentiles the power to understand the love of Christ, which is beyond all knowledge. Or uh, you know, something like that. I'm not joking, folks. Paul wanted the Gentiles to be filled with an understanding of the breadth and length and height and depth of the love of God. I tell you what, that's a tall order! But Paul knew that God could do it. He was sure that with God's power, nothing was impossible. Not gonna happen, folks. Literally. So Paul prayed that the Gentiles would be filled with God's love, and that they would understand the mystery of Christ and the riches of his grace. That's a wrap. Excuse me.
