Welcome back to Weekend Update. It's time to take a look at the book of Zephaniah, chapter 3. This is the part where God gets mad. He's mad at the people of Jerusalem for their wickedness and their refusal to repent. →

Joe: Alright, so we're gonna talk about Zephaniah 3. What's the deal with this chapter? Bible Expert: Well, Zephaniah 3 is all about God's judgement on the people of Judah and Jerusalem. He is going to punish them for their wickedness and idolatry. →

Alex: Welcome to Jeopardy! Tell me a little bit about yourself. Contestant: Well, I'm a big fan of the Bible, so I thought I'd give you a quick summary of the book of Zephaniah. Alex: Uh...okay. Contestant: Zephaniah 3 talks about the Lord's judgement on Judah for their sin and wickedness. →

"Listen up, recruits! Chapter 3 of Zephaniah is pretty straight-forward. The Lord is angry at the people in Jerusalem for their idolatry and wickedness. He's gonna punish them mercilessly and then bring his people back to him - but only if they repent and turn away from their sins. →

Robin: Holy Smokes, Batman! Look at what Zephaniah 3 is telling us! Batman: What does it say, Robin? Robin: It says that God will restore justice to Jerusalem and will make them a strong city. He will also forgive their sins and take away their enemies. →

Folks, see here, Jack, this is Zephaniah 3 and it is a powerful chapter. It tells us that the Lord will restore Jerusalem and its people, and the Lord will make it a joyous place, with no more violence or destruction. →

Zephaniah 3 is a chapter of many sad events. The people of Jerusalem are called out for their wickedness and they are told they will be judged. "The Lord will cut off the proud and haughty people," says God. →
