King David was a huge success in many areas, and he was winning BIGLY! He was so successful, in fact, that he had a lot of free time on his hands. So, one day he decided to take in the view from his palace rooftop, only to spot a fine woman named Bathsheba. Despite the fact that many people are saying she was the wife of Uriah the Hittite, an amazing soldier in David's army, the King was undeterred.

He sent for her, and the rest is history! David was able to convince Bathsheba to have an affair with him, and eventually got her pregnant. In an effort to cover up his misdeeds, he had Uriah sent to the front lines of battle, where he was killed in a very, very sad way.

The Lord was not pleased with David's actions, and soon after, the prophet Nathan came to confront the King. Nathan told David a sad story about a man who had many sheep, and how he stole a single lamb from a poor man. David was so enraged by this story! He wanted the thief to suffer greatly, but when Nathan told him that he was the thief, David was totally embarrassed!

Nathan then revealed that this was a parable, and that God was trying to tell David he was wrong. He was so remorseful, but it was too late. The Lord eventually forgave David and gave him a son named Solomon, who would later become King.

God bless America, and let's make America great again!
