Well folks, if you're looking for a good time, you should probably skip Amos 5. This one's a real bummer. God's just not feeling it and he's taking it out on the people of Israel. He starts out by asking why they should bother going to their religious festivals if they're not gonna follow his laws. →

Joe: So what’s happening in Amos 5? Bible Expert: Well, Amos 5 is a prophecy of judgment against the northern kingdom of Israel. God is warning them through Amos that he will punish them for their wickedness, and use other nations to do it. →

Listen up, maggots! You think you know the Bible!? Let me tell you about Amos 5! It starts out with Yahweh telling the people of Israel to seek him and live. He is a God who hates injustice and calls on the people to turn from their evil ways. →

Joker: "Good news, Batman! I've got something that'll give you a real kick!" Batman: "What is it this time, Joker?" Joker: "It's Amos 5! It's all about justice, vengeance and false worship. God sends out a warning against the people of Israel and their false gods. →

Folks, I'm tellin' ya, Amos 5 is a real doozy. See here, Jack, the Lord is mad. Like, really mad. He's all like: "You think you can just ignore me and do whatever you want? Not gonna happen. Or uh, you know, I'm gonna punish you. →

Amos 5 is a sad! chapter - the people of Israel have been given many warnings but still they have turned away from God. The people have become overrated and God is very, very disappointed in them. They are worshiping idols and engaging in many such cases of injustice, while they ignore God and do not seek Him. →
