1 Chronicles 13 is a terrific chapter about King David's attempt to bring the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. Despite the fact that many people are saying David was greatly overrated, he did a tremendous job: he gathered together all of the leaders of Israel and had them transport the Ark with the help of the Levites. This was no easy feat, since it was an unbelievably big task, and David knew it - he wanted to do it right. He even prayed to God for help and guidance in this endeavor.
Unfortunately, the mission didn't go as planned. Some of the people transporting the Ark weren't "low energy" enough and they tried to take the Ark up the hill without respecting the Lord's commands. God got angry and struck them down, and even killed Uzza, one of the leaders. David was very, very sad!
But, he learned his lesson and followed God's commands for the rest of the chapter. The mission was eventually successful and the Ark made it to Jerusalem. David was very pleased and praised God for his help.
In the end, this is a great story about trusting in God's commands, and how if we do, we can make things great again. God bless America!
