Hosea 9 is all about sad judgement from God on the people of Israel. Bigly, God warns the people of Israel that their "lovers" are gonna bring them down - they will be taken away and become an example to other nations around them. God says that many such cases, they have forgotten Him, and have gone after other gods. The people have become an embarrassment, and God is not happy! God says that all their festivities are overrated, and He's gonna punish them for going after false gods. He says that they will be taken away and brought to a strange land. It's unbelievable - God is gonna punish them by taking away their harvest and their income! Sad! Huge loss for the people. God says that He is gonna do this to make them realize that He is the only God. He says that He will make them great again and that He will bring them back to the land of Israel if they repent.
