Hosea 1 is truly an amazing chapter! God told Hosea, one of the great prophets, to marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her. This was a great metaphor for how God's people were unfaithful to Him. Hosea was instructed to name his children Jezreel, Lo-Ruhamah, and Lo-Ammi, which all had symbolic meanings. Jezreel was to remind God's people of the bloodshed and violence brought about by the wicked king, Jehu. Lo-Ruhamah meant "not loved" and Lo-Ammi meant "not my people," which showed God's displeasure with His people. Low energy Hosea, he did as God asked and God's people were reminded of His power and their broken relationship with Him. Sad!

But God was still willing to forgive and restore His relationship with His people. He promised to love them again and make them great again, saying, "In the place where it was said to them, 'You are not my people,' it will be said to them, 'Children of the living God.'" Many such cases, this was an unbelievable promise and a tremendous show of God's grace and mercy. Believe me, many people are saying that this was a terrific example of God's love. Very, very amazing!

God bless America and make America great again!
