Joe: Alright, welcome back to the Joe Rogan Experience! We are joined by a Bible expert to give us an overview of Jeremiah 9.

Bible Expert: Sure Joe. Jeremiah 9 is a chapter about how God will punish the people of Judah for their sins. The prophet Jeremiah is mourning the destruction that God will bring upon his people. He pleads with God to not bring destruction on them and laments the fact that the people of Judah do not acknowledge God and His laws.

Joe: Wow, that's heavy. So God is really punishing the people of Judah for their sins?

Bible Expert: Yes, Joe. In verse 11, God says that He will make their land a wasteland and their enemies will plunder it. He also says that they will be scattered among the nations and will be an object of ridicule.

Joe: That doesn't sound good. So what's the takeaway here?

Bible Expert: Well, Joe, the takeaway is that God will punish sin, but He also has mercy and compassion. In verse 12, God says that, though He will bring punishment on his people, He will not make a complete end of them. He also says that He will not forget His covenant with them. So, even though God will punish Judah for their sins, there is still hope for them.

Joe: Alright, that's interesting. Jamie, Google "God's covenant with Judah" for me.
