Joe: Alright, so we are talking Bible Expert. What is going on in Acts 4?

Bible Expert: Well, Joe, this chapter talks about the Apostles' bold proclamation of the Gospel and how the religious leaders of the time reacted to it.

Joe: Wait, so they were preaching and the religious leaders didn't like it?

Bible Expert: Yes, that's right. They were preaching about Jesus and how he was the Messiah. The religious leaders didn't like that and so they arrested the Apostles and put them in jail.

Joe: Wow, that's a pretty bold move considering who they were preaching to.

Bible Expert: Absolutely. But then something amazing happened. An angel released them from prison and they went right back to preaching.

Joe: Whoa. Hold on a second. An angel released them from prison?

Bible Expert: Yes, Joe. An angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and allowed the Apostles to go free.

Joe: Damn. That's wild.

Bible Expert: It certainly is. But the religious leaders were still not happy and so they threatened the Apostles to stop preaching about Jesus.

Joe: So what did the Apostles do?

Bible Expert: They refused to stop preaching and instead, they prayed for God to give them boldness and courage to continue their mission. God answered their prayer and they kept on preaching. In the end, the religious leaders had to let them go because of the signs and wonders that were happening through their preaching.
