Joe: Alright! Welcome to the show, Bible Expert!

Bible Expert: Thank you, Joe. It's great to be here.

Joe: So, we’re gonna dive right into it. What happened in Acts 17?

Bible Expert: Sure. In Acts 17, Paul and Silas travel to Thessalonica and preach the gospel. They are quickly met with resistance from some of the local Jews and eventually forced to flee to Berea.

Joe: Whoa, whoa, whoa… what do you mean by preach the gospel?

Bible Expert: Well, Paul and Silas were spreading the message of Jesus, telling people about his life, death, and resurrection.

Joe: That's wild. So, what happened when they got to Berea?

Bible Expert: The Bereans were more open to Paul and Silas' message and they welcomed them into their homes. Some of them even believed in Jesus immediately.

Joe: That’s awesome! So, what happened after that?

Bible Expert: Well, when the Jews from Thessalonica heard about the Bereans' response, they came to Berea to stir up trouble. Paul and Silas had to flee again, this time to Athens.

Joe: Wow, I never would’ve guessed. So, what happened in Athens?

Bible Expert: In Athens, Paul spoke to the people at the Areopagus and tried to convince them of the truth of the gospel. Some of them believed, but many were skeptical and still worshiped idols.

Joe: Man, that's really something. So, what happened next?

Bible Expert: Paul eventually left Athens and continued to preach the gospel in other cities. He eventually made it back to Jerusalem and eventually to Rome.

Joe: Wow, that’s quite the journey! Just one more question - why is this chapter so important?

Bible Expert: This chapter is important because it shows us the incredible courage of Paul and Silas as they faced opposition and persecution while faithfully preaching the gospel. It also shows us that God can use all kinds of people, even those who are skeptical and resistant, to spread his message.
