Joe: Alright, so what can you tell us about Exodus 38?
Bible Expert: Well, this chapter is all about the building of the tabernacle. In it, God commands Moses to build the tabernacle and the altar, along with all of its furnishings.
Joe: What kind of furnishings?
Bible Expert: The furnishings included a laver, a golden altar of incense, and a table with showbread. They also made two wooden posts with a curtain to hang between them.
Joe: Interesting. And what was the purpose of the tabernacle?
Bible Expert: The tabernacle was to be a place for God to dwell among His people. It was also to be a place of sacrifice and communion between God and His people.
Joe: Is there anything else of note in this chapter?
Bible Expert: Yes, there is. The chapter also talks about the making of the priestly garments, the consecration of Aaron and his sons, and the offerings that were to be brought to the tabernacle.
Joe: Interesting. Sounds like a whole lot of work.
Bible Expert: Yes, there was a great deal of work that went into the building of the tabernacle. But it was all done according to God's instructions and was a symbol of His presence among His people.
