Joe: Alright, so let's talk about Exodus 3. What's going on in this chapter?

Bible Expert: Exodus 3 is the start of Moses' mission to lead the Israelites out of Egypt and into the Promised Land. It begins with God appearing to Moses in the form of a burning bush and speaking with him. God tells Moses that he must go to Pharaoh and demand the release of the Israelites in the name of the LORD.

Joe: Whoa whoa whoa, did you say God appeared to Moses as a burning bush? That sounds pretty wild. Are you sure that's true?

Jamie: Hang on Joe, let me Google it. (After a few moments searching) Yeah, looks like it's true.

Bible Expert: Yes, it's true. God tells Moses to go to Pharaoh and tell him to let his people go. He is also given a sign to prove God's authority: the staff Moses carries will turn into a snake and then back again.

Joe: Wow, that's crazy. So did Moses actually do it?

Bible Expert: Yes, he did. Moses goes to Pharaoh and performs the sign, but Pharaoh still refuses to let the Israelites go. God then sends a series of ten plagues against Egypt to convince Pharaoh to release them.
