Alex: "So, tell me a bit about yourself!"

Contestant: "Well, I'm currently reading the Bible, and I thought I'd summarize for you the book of Zephaniah. It's about the Lord's judgment on the people of Judah and Jerusalem for their idolatry and wickedness, and His warning of an impending day of disaster."

Alex (with a sigh): "Oh, uh, okay. So, what does this chapter say specifically?"

Contestant: "Zephaniah 1 speaks of the Lord's judgment which will come with a great noise and fury. He will punish the people for their sinful behavior including their idolatry, their pride, their violence, and their refusal to repent. He will also bring destruction upon those who have forgotten Him. The day of the Lord will come with wrath and fury and no one will be able to escape its power."

Alex (visibly frustrated): "Okay, uh, so how does it end?"

Contestant: "The chapter ends with the Lord's plea for the people to turn from their wicked ways and seek Him. If they do, He promises to be merciful and show them compassion. He also promises a day of rejoicing for those who are faithful to Him."

Alex (exasperated): "Right, uh, well, that's, um, very interesting... What else do you like to do?"
