Joe: Alright, so we’ve got our Bible expert here again, he’s gonna give us the lowdown on the 12th chapter of Matthew. What’s going on in there?

Expert: Well, the chapter starts with Jesus healing a man with a withered hand on the Sabbath day. The Pharisees were outraged at Jesus for doing this as it was considered work. Jesus then clarifies that the Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.

Joe: Woah, hold on, Jamie, quick Google on the Sabbath. Alright, so the Sabbath is the seventh day of the week, right?

Jamie: That’s right Joe, the Sabbath is observed by Jews and some Christians.

Joe: Got it. So what else?

Expert: Jesus then went on to warn his followers to be careful not to speak against the Holy Spirit. He also warned them not to treat him as an enemy.

Joe: Got it, so we gotta watch out for that. What else?

Expert: Jesus also had a few words of wisdom with regards to the importance of words. He warned that words can be like fire, and can even cause a person to be judged guilty on the day of judgement.

Joe: Wow, that’s pretty heavy. Anything else?

Expert: Yes, Jesus also had a few things to say about the importance of family, particularly between mother and father. He said that a brother should not be divided against another brother and that a house divided against itself will not stand.

Joe: That’s some good advice. Alright, so that’s the 12th chapter of Matthew. Thanks for the info!
