Joe: Alright, so I've got a Bible expert here with me today, and we're gonna dive right into it! What is the chapter we're talking about?

Bible Expert: 2 Kings 24.

Joe: Alright, let's hear it!

Bible Expert: This chapter starts off with King Jehoiakim of Judah being taken as a captive by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. After that, Nebuchadnezzar appoints his son, Jehoiachin, to be king of Judah. He was only 18 years old.

Joe: (Surprised) Wow! 18 years old, that's young to be king.

Bible Expert: Yes, he was. Unfortunately, he didn't last long. He only reigned for 3 months before being taken captive by Nebuchadnezzar. After that, Nebuchadnezzar appoints Zedekiah as king of Judah.

Joe: (Interrupting) Hold on, so we had Jehoiakim, then his son Jehoiachin, and then Zedekiah?

Bible Expert: That's right.

Joe: Interesting. So what happens next?

Bible Expert: Well, Zedekiah reigned for 11 years, but he was eventually taken captive by Nebuchadnezzar and brought to Babylon. During his reign, he did evil in the eyes of the Lord and disobeyed the Lord's commands. So the Lord allowed Nebuchadnezzar to take him captive.

Joe: Wow, that's pretty harsh. So what happened after that?

Bible Expert: Well, Nebuchadnezzar appointed Gedaliah as governor of Judah after Zedekiah was taken captive. But Gedaliah was murdered by a group of rebels who had escaped to Egypt. As a result, the people of Judah were forced to flee to Egypt, and the chapter ends with the Babylonian army pursuing them.
