Joe: Alright, welcome back to the podcast everyone. Today we have a Bible expert here with us to talk about 2 Kings 18. So let’s get right to it.

Bible Expert: 2 Kings 18 tells the story of the reign of King Hezekiah of Judah. Hezekiah was a righteous king who “did what was right in the eyes of the Lord”. He removed all the idols and high places and restored the worship of the Lord.

Joe: Wow, that’s impressive.

Jamie: Joe, I just Googled it and Hezekiah was the 13th king of Judah.

Joe: Interesting. So what happened next?

Bible Expert: Well, Hezekiah was tested when King Sennacherib of Assyria invaded Judah. Hezekiah was unwilling to surrender and instead trusted in the Lord for deliverance. Hezekiah prayed to the Lord and the Lord answered his prayer by sending an angel to defeat the Assyrian army.

Joe: Wow, talk about divine intervention. So Hezekiah was victorious?

Bible Expert: Yes, Hezekiah was victorious and his faith was rewarded. He was also praised by the people of Judah for his faithfulness to the Lord.

Joe: Amazing. So what’s the takeaway from this chapter?

Bible Expert: The takeaway from this chapter is that faith in the Lord will always be rewarded. Hezekiah’s faith in the Lord led to his victory and it serves as an example to us all.
