Joe: Alright, alright, alright! We've got a Bible expert with us here in the studio today and I'm so excited to hear what he has to say about Numbers 23.

Expert: Sure. Numbers 23 tells the story of when Balaam, a pagan prophet, is asked by Balak, the king of Moab, to curse the Israelites.

Joe: Wait, hold on. So a pagan is cursing the Israelites? How is that gonna work out?

Expert: Well, God intervenes and Balaam ends up blessing the Israelites instead of cursing them. He speaks a series of four oracles that are all positive, speaking of Israel's future glory.

Joe: Wow! That's intense. So what does the chapter teach us?

Expert: Well, it teaches us that God is sovereign over all things, even pagan prophets. It also shows us that God is faithful to his people and that he will fulfill his promises.

Joe: Interesting! So, what else do we learn from this chapter?

Expert: We learn that God is always faithful to his people, even when they are facing impossible odds. We also learn that God is powerful and can work through any situation to bring about good.
