Joe: Alright, so we've got our Bible Expert here and he's gonna tell us all about Numbers 10. He's ready to go, right?

Expert: Yes, I'm ready.

Joe: Alright, let's hear it.

Expert: In Numbers 10, the Lord tells Moses to make two silver trumpets. He then orders that the trumpets be used to signal the beginning and end of a journey, the gathering of the people, and to sound in times of war.

Joe: So did the Israelites actually use these trumpets?

Expert: Yes, they did. When the trumpets were heard, the people knew to gather and follow Moses.

Joe: That's pretty cool. Wait, why did Moses need two trumpets?

Expert: The two trumpets were used for different purposes. One was used to signal the beginning and end of a journey, while the other was used to signal the gathering of the people and to sound in times of war.

Joe: Jamie, check this out. Is this true?

Jamie: Yeah, it looks like it.

Joe: Wow, okay. Anything else in this chapter?

Expert: Yes, the Lord also tells Moses that the Israelites are to travel with the Ark of the Covenant, and that when they break camp and travel, the tribe of Levi is to carry the Ark.

Joe: Alright, so what happened next?

Expert: The Israelites followed the Lord’s instructions and set out from the wilderness of Sinai. They traveled for three days and camped in the wilderness of Paran.

Joe: Whoa, okay. Anything else?

Expert: Yes, finally, the Lord speaks to Moses from the Tabernacle and tells him that the Israelites will not enter the Promised Land until the following year.
