Alex Trebek: So, what do you do for a living?

Contestant: I'm an avid student of the Bible, so I can summarize the book of Ephesians for you!

Alex Trebek: *with a slight groan* Alright, if you must.

Contestant: In Ephesians 2, Paul tells the people of Ephesus that they were dead in their sins and living lives of disobedience until God showed them mercy by making them alive in Christ. He reminds them that they are no longer slaves to sin, but instead have been made alive through God's grace. Paul also explains that the Gentiles—non-Jews—are now part of the same family in Christ, having been brought near by the blood of Jesus. This unity is the result of Jesus's death on the cross and the peace he brought.
