Joe: Alright folks, I'm here with our Bible Expert and we're going to dive into Judges 3. So what's this chapter about?

Bible Expert: Well, Judges 3 is all about God allowing the nation of Israel to be tested by other nations. Specifically, the chapter talks about God allowing the nations of Canaan, Moab, and Ammon to oppress Israel as a way of testing their faithfulness.

Joe: Wait, God was intentionally allowing them to be oppressed? That doesn't seem very nice.

Bible Expert: Well, it's important to remember that God's ways are not our ways. He was using this as a way of testing the faith of the Israelites, and it was a way of teaching them the importance of faithfulness and obedience.

Joe: Alright, so what happened after the Israelites were oppressed?

Bible Expert: Well, God chose certain people to be judges, or leaders, to help lead the Israelites out of oppression. He chose a man named Othniel to be the first judge, and he led the Israelites to victory over the Canaanites. After Othniel, God chose Ehud to lead the Israelites against the Moabites, and they were victorious. Finally, the Israelites were led to victory over the Ammonites by a man named Shamgar.

Joe: Wow, that's incredible. So all these people were chosen by God to lead the Israelites out of oppression?

Bible Expert: That's right. God used these judges to teach the Israelites about faithfulness and obedience, and to help them out of their difficult situation.
