Joe: Alright, so we're talking about Esther 6 now. What's the story here?

Bible Expert: Well, Joe, this chapter is about the Jews being threatened by Haman, who is an advisor to the King of Persia. Haman is planning on wiping out the Jews from the entire kingdom, so Mordecai, who is Esther's uncle, tells her to approach the King and plead for her people.

Joe: Whoa, that's intense. What does she do?

Bible Expert: Well, she fasts for three days and then she goes to the King and invites him to a banquet. At the banquet she reveals her identity as a Jew and pleads for her people. The King is moved by her story and grants her request.

Joe: Wow, so she saves the day!

Bible Expert: Yes, Joe, she does. The King then issues a decree allowing the Jews to defend themselves and they are successful in doing so.

Joe: That's amazing. So the Jews were saved by Esther?

Bible Expert: Yes, indeed. Esther's bravery and courage saved the Jews from certain destruction.
