Joe: Alright, so we've got 2 Corinthians 12. What can you tell us about it?

Expert: Well, it's all about Paul boasting of his own experience with a vision he had of a man caught up to the third heaven.

Joe: Wow, that's wild! What happened in the vision?

Expert: He heard inexpressible words that he wasn't allowed to share, so he refers to it as a thorn in his flesh.

Joe: Wow, what could that mean?

Expert: Scholars believe it was a physical ailment or some kind of temptation. Regardless, Paul was given a grace that was sufficient to sustain him, and he learned to boast in his weaknesses instead of his strengths.

Joe: That's incredible. What else does this chapter talk about?

Expert: It teaches us about being content with God's will for us, no matter what it may be. Paul goes on to talk about how he was given signs and wonders to prove his apostleship.

Joe: That's amazing! What else is in this chapter?

Expert: Paul encourages the Corinthians to be reconciled with him and warns them against false teachers. He ends by saying that he is coming to Corinth and will not spare anyone who is living in sin.
