    1. Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called {to be} an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, / 2. (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) / 3. Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;

    1. Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. / 2. But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.

    1. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, {which is} your reasonable service. / 2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what {is} that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

    1. Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. {ordained: or, ordered} / 2. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
