1. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. / 2. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: →

1. Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. {is born: Gr. has been born} / 2. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. →
